Steroids are a man made substance similar to testosterone, the male sex hormone. Steroids increase tissue like muscle and also increase facial and body hair. Steroids can be taken by mouth or by injection.
Effects:
Some of the effects of steroids include sexual dysfunction, liver damage, cancer, loss of sex drive, strength of muscles, hair loss, acne, aggression, heart disease, and strokes. In women specifically the use of steroids has been known to cause deepening of the voice and disruption of the menstrual cycle. Steroids can cause stunted growth in teenagers.
